Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. to open in Anaheim, CA this November

Anaheim, CA – Better than a box of chocolates, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., a restaurant that captures the charm and American spirit that made Paramount Pictures’ “Forrest Gump” a smash hit, will open its newest location in Anaheim Garden Walk this November.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., which combines quality seafood in a casual family atmosphere, is the first and only theme restaurant chain based on a motion picture property. Just as the name implies, shrimp is the specialty of the house and served the way you like it from steamed in beer to fried to shrimp scampi to stuffed and more. “We know that Anaheim residents and visitors will enjoy the fun and casual tone of Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. just the way Forrest and his ‘best good friend&» Bubba would have,” said Scott Barnett, president and CEO of Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. “Our location in the new Anaheim Garden Walk is a great fit for our newest restaurant. Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Opens in Anaheim

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. models itself after the 1994 hit movie “Forrest Gump.” The restaurant features the down-home décor reminiscent of the movie’s setting in Alabama. Film memorabilia and still photos decorate the walls, along with reproductions of script pages, storyboards and costumes, to create a fun family atmosphere. Scrawled “Gumpisms” grace the varnished tabletops inside and guests can try on the plaster casts of Forrest’s running shoes at the famed bus bench in front of the restaurant.

Since the 1996 debut of the flagship Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. on Cannery Row in Monterey, Calif., 20 additional locations have opened here in the U.S., many in key tourist destinations. A privately held company headquartered in San Clemente, Calif., Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. plans to have 35 to 50 additional restaurants in the next five years.
